How to find a blog

The blogosphere is an increasingly important outreach tool, but in order to use it correctly, you’ve got to know who is writing about what.

So how do you find blogs that are written about certain issues?

Here are a few sites that will help you find what you are looking for:

  • Bloglines - Bloglines has long been known as an aggregator, but it is also very useful as a blog search engine as well. In addition to a user-friendly "advanced search," you can also subscribe to an RSS feed of the search results. Bloglines will give you feeds and news items that match your search terms.

  • Technorati.com- the leading monitor of weblogs. It is a real time search engine, which means it is constantly updating. Each blog has an “authority” ranking which tells you who sees the blog and what they say. You can also mark blogs as “favorites” so you can find them easily everytime you visit.

  • Blogsearch.google.com- searching like we all know how, with good results. You can also create an email alert, create a bog search gadget for your google homepage, and subscribe to a blog search feed.

  • Ice Rocket - Searches blogs, videos and MySpace.
